  2. ******************** HELP FOR "X TO EXIT" MENU ***********************

  5. QUICK START: See the end of the HELP screen in the "Generate Index" Menu.

  7. OVERVIEW: The "X to Exit" menu includes options which enable you to quit
  8.           INDEX! altogether or to shell out to DOS from within INDEX!
  9.           without losing the current parameters of your INDEX! session.
  10.  
  11. DOS SHELL: A DOS shell is simply a means of executing commands from the DOS
  12.            prompt without having to exit a program and then reenter it and
  13.            reset its parameters later. The DOS shell in INDEX! is fairly
  14.            small because of INDEX!'s large memory requirements. Therefore,
  15.            it is useful mainly for DOS commands such as DIR, COPY, DEL,
  16.            ERASE, and so on. It provides a handy way to solve file problems
  17.            that you discover when preparing for indexing.

  19. QUIT: This choice causes a complete exit from INDEX!. Only your saved
  20.       defaults are retained for your next session.

  22. HELP: This option provides the on-screen information which you are now
  23.       reading.

  25. MORE HELP: If you would like to have more help online relating to the
  26.            X TO EXIT menu, you can edit the file "INEXTMEN.HLP" in any
  27.            ASCII text editor, adding to or reshaping the material as you
  28.            see fit up to a maximum file size of 64K. Use spaces rather
  29.            than tabs to indent, limit line lengths to 76 characters, and
  30.            end each and every line with a carriage return.
